Automatic Guided
Vehicle Systems (AGVS)

Optimizing
Material Flow
Dematic L&A in the United States
(formerly Rapistan) introduced the world's first automatic guided vehicle in
the 1950s. Since then, its strides in technology produced an AGV product
line that improves response time for material movement,
controls load supply and removal upon demand, fits
into tight areas shared by people and fork lifts,
and covers long or short distances. Automated operation
features include sophisticated real-time communications,
on board routing and traffic logic (for multi-vehicle
systems), automatic return to the battery change
area upon sensing low battery, and Virtual Path TM
guidance control (non-wire).
