Fast-turnaround articles act as pushing system
Our customers
often also want pushing systems
for fast-turnaround articles
or particular ranges of goods.
In such cases, the goods demand
of each individual outlet is
determined on the basis of
sales figures, and a continuous
flow of goods ensures appropriate
supply. The quantities of each
item of goods that each outlet
will receive has already been
determined by the time that
the goods arrive in the regional
distribution warehouse. Goods
are dispatched on their way
directly after arrival by the
cross-dock method. This enables
a maximum efficiency operational
sequence with minimal warehouse
stocks. However, this does
require a larger storage area
in the store, but that doesn't
always have to be a disadvantage.
For example, in discount stores,
sales areas have already become
part warehousing and part shopping
area.
